Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-08-19
These Terms of Service (the Terms) govern your access to and use of Storyable, an interactive storytelling service where people create and play AI-driven stories and characters. By creating an account or using Storyable, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
You accept these Terms when you check the agreement box at sign-up, and again when you continue to use Storyable after they change. We record the date and time of your acceptance with your account.
Storyable is operated as a North American beta. Some sections below describe limits that exist because of that, and we say so where it matters.
If you use Storyable on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. What Storyable is
Storyable lets you build stories and characters and then play them as an interactive conversation. What you build is stored as a draft that only you can see until you publish it.
Playing a story sends your input, the creator's story configuration, and the recent conversation to a large language model, which writes the next turn. Some stories also generate images.
Storyable hosts both what people write themselves and what models generate from what people write. We do not review every work before it is published. We do act on reports and on our own detection — see the Content Policy.
3. Who may use Storyable
You must be at least 13 years old to hold a Storyable account. If you are under 13 you may not use Storyable, and we delete accounts we find that belong to children under 13.
Works rated 19+ are available only to accounts that have completed age verification and are 19 or older. We use 19 rather than 18 because it matches the rating shown on the content and is stricter than the 18-year thresholds used by United States state age-verification laws.
We may block adult-rated content from regions where we cannot lawfully or practically serve it. That block is based on the region your request appears to come from.
During the beta, creating an account may also require an invite code.
4. Your account
Keep your password and your device secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Give us an email address you actually control. We use it to reach you about your account.
One person, one account. Do not share an account, sell it, or transfer it.
Tell us promptly at support@brnd.company if you believe someone else has used your account.
5. Content you create
You keep ownership of what you create — story text, character definitions, prompts, uploads, and anything else you put into Storyable (your Content).
To run the service you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and transmit your Content, and to send it to the third-party model providers listed in our Privacy Policy so that they can generate a response. This licence exists so that we can operate Storyable; it does not let us sell your Content as our own.
If you publish your Content, you also grant other users the right to view and play it inside Storyable. If you allow remixing on a work, you additionally grant other users the right to build derivative works from it inside Storyable.
You may unpublish or delete your Content at any time. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period, and other users may keep play transcripts they already generated.
You are responsible for holding the rights to everything you upload. Do not upload material you do not have permission to use.
6. AI-generated output
Story turns, images, and suggested replies are generated by machine learning models. They are fiction. They may be inaccurate, inconsistent, offensive, or unlike anything you asked for.
Do not rely on generated text as advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.
Models are probabilistic, so the same prompt can produce output resembling someone else's. We make no claim that generated output is unique, and we cannot promise that it is protectable by copyright where you live.
As between you and Storyable, we do not claim ownership of the output generated in your sessions. The model providers' own terms also apply to that output.
Generated content that breaks our Content Policy is still a violation, no matter which side produced it.
7. Acceptable use
Our Content Policy is part of these Terms and lists what is allowed and what is absolutely prohibited. Read it.
In addition, do not:
- probe, scan, or attempt to breach the service, or interfere with anyone else's use of it;
- use automated means to scrape, resell, or bulk-extract content or model output;
- attempt to bypass credit accounting, rate limits, invite gating, age verification, or regional restrictions;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- upload malware, or use Storyable to send spam or run scams;
- reverse engineer the service, except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted.
8. Credits
Credits are an internal unit of account we use to meter model usage. They are not money, not a security, and not a stored-value instrument.
Credits have no cash value. They cannot be redeemed, refunded, withdrawn, or transferred between accounts, and they are not your property.
New accounts receive a starting grant. Play turns, image generation, and content ingestion consume credits at rates published in the product, which we may change.
Daily usage limits apply. If you run out of credits or hit a daily limit, generation stops until credits are available again.
Credits are not sold during the beta. If we begin selling them we will publish purchase terms first, and those terms will govern purchases.
We may adjust, expire, or revoke credits obtained through error, abuse, or a breach of these Terms.
9. Our intellectual property
Storyable, our name, our logo, the interface, and the software behind them belong to us or to our licensors. These Terms transfer none of that to you.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Storyable in accordance with these Terms.
Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.
10. Copyright complaints
We respond to copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The full procedure — what a valid notice must contain and how to file a counter-notification — is in our DMCA Policy.
Accounts that infringe repeatedly are terminated.
Send notices to support@brnd.company.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Storyable at any time and ask us to delete your account at support@brnd.company.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or the Content Policy, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk for other users or for us. Where the violation is severe — content involving minors, for example — we act immediately and without notice.
On termination your right to use Storyable ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive — licences already granted to other users, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law — survive.
12. Beta service
Storyable is in beta. Features may change or disappear, sessions may be interrupted, and generated content may be lost.
We make no service level commitment during the beta.
We may reset non-essential data, such as play sessions, giving notice where that is practical.
13. Disclaimers
Storyable is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that generated content will be accurate, appropriate, or suitable for any purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storyable and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow them, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Storyable and its operators against claims, damages, and costs — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your Content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Nothing here removes consumer protections that the law of your country of residence gives you and does not allow to be waived.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
For material changes we give notice in the product before they take effect, and where the change requires it we ask you to accept again.
Continuing to use Storyable after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
